It was a rare privilege to be in a position to produce a workbook to assist young people transfer to second level school during covid times. Aimee O'Neill and i worked feverishly together to met the June deadline in order to have the booklet delivered locally to sixth class graduating primary students.

My original concept for the work book was inspired by renowned play therapist Edel Lawlor and takes stock of good experiences at primary level while looking forward positively to adventure yet to be had in post primary school. a huge debt of gratitude is also due to Fingal CYPSY for the editing and printing of the document.

'The education subgroup of Fingal Children and Young People Services Committee has developed a practical workbook for 6th class students transferring to secondary school. The workbook entitled 'Looking Back Looking Forwardis an excellent resource designed to support students with the transition to secondary school in a COVID 19 era. Beginning secondary school is a key moment in a child’s life, there can be joy and worry in equal measure. This excellent booklet supports the student and helps them prepare for their time ahead in secondary school. Well done and many thanks to Conor Cody and Aimee O'Neill for drafting the document.
